Our aim is to provide a safe, homely and caring environment

for residents who are visually impaired.

 

A high level of personal care is offered with above average staffing levels and

staff trained to be sensitive to the needs of people who have a visual impairment.  

 

Senior Care staff are on duty throughout 24 hours.

 

Each resident has a member of the care staff personally responsible for

their care ensuring that all our residents are treated as individuals with rights

of dignity and privacy and as far as possible offered a degree of choice about

their lifestyle within the Home.

 

Residents are encouraged to bring with them limited items

of a personal nature and a talking book, radio, etc.

 

Elkington House is registered for 25 in category elderly/Blind.

 

Enquiries are welcomed for short stay which is now available, recognising

the needs of carers and offering a welcome to temporary residents.

Lounge, day room and garden lounge.

 

Ramp to large garden with guide rails.

 

Single and double rooms, many with en-suite facilities.

 

Two double rooms for couples

also available when only one person is visually impaired.

 

High Standard of food with weekly published menu

and residents’ choice of meals encouraged.
